Frequently Asked Questions

Are dogs allowed at Highland Cow Camping?

Yes, we are a dog-friendly campsite! You are welcome to bring a maximum of two dogs per booking. However, because we are a working farm with livestock in the surrounding fields, we have a zero-tolerance policy for dogs off leads. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times to ensure the safety of our animals and other guests.

There’s nothing quite like a campfire under the stars. We allow small campfires, provided they are in one of our metal fire pits and use wood purchased from our site (available by the recycling area). Please do not light fires directly on the ground or collect wood from the farm or local woodland. For BBQs, please bring a raised stand to ensure no “disposable” BBQs touch or damage the grass. All fires must be extinguished by midnight.

To ensure a peaceful experience for all families and campers, we ask for quiet talking only after 11 pm and complete silence after midnight. We do not allow sound systems or noisy devices at any time. If you play an acoustic instrument, you are welcome to do so until 10 pm. Please note that generators and drones are strictly prohibited on the site.

For campers, arrival is from 3 pm onwards, and we accept arrivals until 10:30 pm. If you expect to arrive later than this, please contact us in advance. On your day of departure, we ask that you vacate your pitch by 11 am and ensure it is left tidy, with all rubbish and recycling placed in the appropriate bins.

Highland Cow Camping is a quiet family-oriented site. To maintain this atmosphere, we do not accept bookings for stag parties or large groups of men. Additionally, to ensure everyone has enough space and privacy, we require at least 6 metres of distance between tents of different groups (and 3 metres between tents within the same group).
